You may or may not know that last year Capital One took over ING Direct. They offer free online checking accounts. I started with ING Direct in 2010 as an Orange Saver, then opened a free checking account at the same time I opened a Sharebuilder (Investment Account).
At the time ING Direct gave $25 for each account I opened then. I even opened a Custodial Account for my granddaughter and two IRAs. Then, last year Capital One took over ING Direct and since then, give $50 to open an account.
My daughter opened an account and has received her $50. I am grateful for the additional $25 deposits I received, however doubling for myself would have been an added treat. Fortunately, you have the opportunity for the $50 cash bonus!
If you are an investor, $6.95 trade commissions aren't bad either. $4.95 a trade if you make automatic investments.
