Ceasefire - In The Dead of Night World Premier Video

Ceasefire is Ray Alexander, Kamren Alexander, Brandon Franklin, Anthony Hainsworth. Four men generating a string of hits among fans releases their new video, "In The Dead of Night." Emerging Magazine is proud to stand behind and support this rapid rising band, Ceasefire.

Ceasefire has a lyrical, music and video hit with In The Dead of Night. Show the love for the guys on Valentine's Day and hereafter, share if you like what these guys are putting down!

Ceasefire Bio

The sum total of Ceasefire can be broken down into the individual parts that compose this project of passion. Where music is just a pastime or hobby for some, Ray Alexander (vocals), Kamren Alexander (guitar), Tristan Montgomery (bass) and Anthony Hainsworth (drums) believe in it as a lifestyle. While the band’s name may indicate a pause in the action, the music is a bombastic expression of the human experience and they’ve only just begun. Ceasefire have one goal and that is to be a sonic force of a rock band that moves the head as well as the strings of the heart.

Formed in 2011 and based in Orange County, CA they are known foremost for their incredible live performances, Ray’s captivating vocal presence and Kamren’s razor sharp guitar hooks that are part art, part science. Theirs is a sound that channels 80s new wave, 90s arena rock and elements of homage to their broad stretch of influences which range from Joy Division to Oasis, Morrissey to Pink Floyd and the Cure to ELO.

How Ceasefire came to be follows the same pattern as many other bands: we have the Myspace classifieds to thank for Anthony and from a mutual friend’s astute referral came Tristan Montgomery. Brothers Ray and Kamren seemed to know at an early age that music was their future and have become the band’s primary lyricists and the songs are what their feelings sound like. A melody, a guitar tone, a chord or an audio experiment can be the catalyst for what eventually becomes the next dynamic song like the post-punk air strike, “Heaven Knows.”

The "X Factor U.K." judge and girlfriend Lauren Silverman welcomed their first son, Eric, on Friday (February 14). This is the first child for Cowell, 54, and the second for 34-year-old Silverman. (She also has a son, Adam, with ex-husband Andrew Silverman.)

"Very happy to say Eric was born at 17.45pm. Healthy and handsome," Cowell tweeted on Friday.

He also shared that Eric is his father's name and that Lauren is "in great shape."

Cowell reportedly flew from London to be by Silverman's side at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Earlier this month, Fox canceled "X Factor" after he announced that he was returning to the U.K. version of the reality singing competition.

Silverman announced her pregnancy in July. She was still married to Silverman, a friend of Cowell's, but the two were divorced in December.

In an interview with Ellen Degeneres in September, Cowell admitted the situation was "uncomfortable," but still was excited to become a father.

"Oh my god, this is exciting," Simon said about hearing the news. "It was kind of uncomfortable because of the situation ... these things happen. I'm actually happier than I've ever been."

Darren Sharper Charged With Drugging, Raping Two Women By L.A. District Attorney

Former pro football player Darren Sharper was charged today with drugging and raping two women, one in October and the other last month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Sharper (dob 11-03-75) is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Department 30 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. He is charged in case BA421442.

Deputy District Attorney Stacy Okun-Wiese with Major Crimes said Sharper is charged with two counts of rape by use of drugs, four counts of furnishing a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. The complaint alleges the controlled substances were zolpidem and morphine.

Okun-Wiese will ask a judge to raise his bail to $10 million because Sharper, who lives in Miami, Fla., is suspected of raping women in Arizona, Nevada and Louisiana.

In a motion filed today to increase his bail, prosecutors said Sharper met two women at a West Hollywood nightclub on Oct. 30, 2013, and invited them to another party. On the way, Sharper allegedly told them he had to stop by his Los Angeles hotel room to pick something up and invited both women up. While there, he allegedly gave each woman a shot. Each woman passed out. Jane Doe #1 allegedly woke up naked hours later with Sharper sexually assaulting her. The second woman allegedly awoke and “interrupted his actions,” the motion states. The two women then left the hotel.

On Jan. 14, Sharper met two separate women at the same West Hollywood nightclub and invited them to a party. Stopping at his hotel, he allegedly invited both up to his room, offered them a shot , and each passed out. N E W S R E L E A S E When they woke up hours later on Jan. 15 , one woman believed she’d been sexually assaulted. Both women left his hotel and sought medical treatment.

Sharper was arrested Jan. 17 by Los Angeles police detectives, who are investigating the case. He was released on $200,000 bail. If convicted, he faces more than 30 years in state prison.

Jeter announces 2014 season will be his last

Yankees captain releases statement on Facebook, thanks fans and organization

TAMPA, Fla. -- Derek Jeter started his career as a fresh-faced rookie shortstop hoisting the World Series trophy in his first full season. He would go on to collect five championship rings, more than 3,000 hits and savor the celebrated title of Yankees captain.

And now as Jeter prepares to enter what will be his 20th season in the big leagues, he has acknowledged that the ride is coming to an end. Jeter announced Wednesday that the 2014 season will be his final one, doing so via a lengthy Facebook post.

Jeter, who will turn 40 in June, said that the numerous injuries that he has recently battled -- beginning with a left ankle fracture sustained in the 2012 American League Championship Series -- have taken their toll, making the game less enjoyable and more of a struggle.

"The one thing I always said to myself was that when baseball started to feel more like a job, it would be time to move forward," Jeter said. "So really it was months ago when I realized that this season would likely be my last."

Commissioner Bud Selig issued the following statement on Wednesday acknowledging Jeter's announcement: "In the 21-plus years in which I have served as Commissioner, Major League Baseball has had no finer ambassador than Derek Jeter. Since his championship rookie season of 1996, Derek has represented all the best of the National Pastime on and off the field. He is one of the most accomplished and memorable players of his -- or any -- era.

"Derek is the kind of person that generations have emulated proudly, and he remains an exemplary face of our sport. Major League Baseball looks forward to celebrating his remarkable career throughout the 2014 season."

Jeter's announcement comes months after longtime teammates Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera took off their uniforms for the final time. The fourth member of the "Core Four," Jorge Posada, walked away after the 2011 season.

A 13-time All-Star, five-time Silver Slugger Award winner and five-time Gold Glove Award winner, Jeter has spent his entire career in Yankees pinstripes. He has been working out for several weeks at the Yanks' complex in Tampa, Fla., taking ground balls and batting practice to prepare for what he has repeatedly called "a normal spring."

Jeter left the Himes Avenue complex before Wednesday's announcement was published on the social media site, but agent Casey Close confirmed that it is legitimate.

Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner said as he was leaving Steinbrenner Field that the team would put out an official statement shortly. Pitching coach Larry Rothschild said as he left the facility that it was difficult to react to Jeter's announcement.

"I don't know what you say about a guy who's done what he's done in his career," Rothschild said. "I don't know if I'm the right guy to put words on it, because it's just been an unbelievable career for him."

Jeter said that he has been wrestling with the decision, and how best to announce it, for some time.

"As I came to this conclusion and shared it with my friends and family, they all told me to hold off saying anything until I was absolutely 100 percent sure," Jeter said. "And the thing is, I could not be more sure. I know it in my heart."

In his post, Jeter thanked the fans for their support over the years, as well as the late George M. Steinbrenner and the Steinbrenner family.

In his Kalamazoo, Mich., bedroom, Jeter once vividly dreamed of playing shortstop for the Yankees, and he said on Wednesday that he "never had to wake up" because "I have been living my dream every single day."

"I've experienced so many defining moments in my career: winning the World Series as a rookie shortstop, being named the Yankees captain, closing the old and opening the new Yankee Stadium. Through it all, I've never stopped chasing the next one. I want to finally stop the chase and take in the world.

"For the last 20 years I've been completely focused on two goals: playing my best and helping the Yankees win," he continued. "That means that for 365 days a year, my every thought and action were geared toward that goal. It's now time for something new."

Coming off a season in which he was limited to just 17 games and served four stints on the disabled list, Jeter's actions have suggested that he was uncertain how much longer he would play.

Jeter negotiated a one-year deal at $12 million after the season, which in hindsight may serve as a window into his thinking. Jeter announced that he was launching a book publishing imprint in partnership with Simon & Schuster last November, and also joined an Atlanta-based food company, Luvo Inc., in January.

"I have achieved almost every personal and professional goal I have set," Jeter said. "I have gotten the very most out of my life playing baseball, and I have absolutely no regrets. Now it is time for the next chapter. I have new dreams and aspirations, and I want new challenges.

"There are many things that I want to do in business and philanthropic work, in addition to focusing more on my personal life and starting a family of my own. And I want the ability to move at my own pace, see the world and finally have a summer vacation."

By making his announcement so early, Jeter has ensured that 2014 will serve as a sendoff celebration of his career -- similar to the tour that Rivera enjoyed last season. He also has milestones to chase: Jeter enters the season with 3,316 hits, three behind Paul Molitor for eighth place on the all-time list. Carl Yastrzemski (3,419), Honus Wagner (3,420) and Cap Anson (3,435) are also within reach.

It remains to be seen how Jeter will handle all of the increased attention, though his past actions suggest that he will not be distracted from the ultimate goal.

"I want to soak in every moment of every day this year, so I can remember it for the rest of my life," Jeter said. "And most importantly, I want to help the Yankees reach our goal of winning another championship."

Two Climb To The End Of A Crane Atop The World’s Second Highest Skyscraper To Take Photos

A few weeks ago, daredevils Vadim Makharov and Ritaliy Raskalov were traveling through China. The intended pinnacle of their trip was to reach the top of the Shanghai Tower, a building only shorter than one other in the world.

They planned their escapade to coincide with the Chinese new year, so that fewer people would be around and security would be lax.

Sneaking into the building, which is still under construction, they climbed 120 stories on foot. At they top, they slept and waited for good weather.

Then they clambered out to the very end of the crane that sits on the roof…

Sinkhole opens up at National Corvette Museum, swallows cars

A massive sinkhole that opened up under a Kentucky museum Wednesday morning swallowed several vintage and rare Corvettes.

The National Corvette Museum said the Bowling Green Fire Department estimates the sinkhole to be around 25-30 feet deep and 40 feet wide.

"This is going to be an interesting situation," Museum Executive Director Wendell Strode told the Bowling Green Daily News, noting that a structural engineer is at the Bowling Green facility to evaluate the damage inside its Sky Dome section.

Six of the cars in the sinkhole are owned by the museum; two others are owned by General Motors.

"It is with heavy hearts that we report that eight Corvettes were affected by this incident," the museum said in a press release.

The museum said the cars are a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil" on loan from General Motors; a 1962 Black Corvette; 1984 PPG Pace Car; 1992 White 1 Millionth Corvette; 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Corvette; 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette and a 2009 White 1.5 Millionth Corvette.

Strode told the Courier-Journal that emergency personnel allowed museum staff to remove the only surviving 1983 Corvette, which was at risk of joining the other cars in the sinkhole.

“Before we do anything, like remove the other cars, we want that assessment so we know if there’s been any structural damage to the Sky Dome,” Strode told the Courier-Journal.

The museum is closed for the day.

An estimate of the cost of the damage done to vehicles and the museum has not yet been determined.

No injuries have been reported and Bowling Green city spokeswoman Kim Lancaster told The Associated Press that this appears to be the first incident of its kind at the property.

Bowling Green is also the only place where General Motors builds Corvettes. The city sits in the midst of Kentucky’s Western Pennyroyal area, where many of the state’s longest and deepest caves run underground, according to The Associated Press.
